Yusa Tsukamoto

His story is based on the story of Japanese fairytale, "the Rabbit in the Moon"

Once there were three friends that live in the mountain of Rakka in Namibu, there was a fox, a monkey and a rabbit. Their names were Shōmō Hosokawa (細川 消耗), Kusamura Araki (荒木 叢) and Yusa Tsukamoto (塚本 遊佐) respectively. As they grow older, a old man who approached them in desperate need of food. The friends agreed to help him, Kusamura gather nuts while Shōmō gather food from the fish trap from the river and Yusa tried to gather food from the forest, but failed and was teased for not getting food because of he was fat and slow. As he was in despair, he asked Shōmō to gather wood and Kusamura to start a fire, then suddenly the rabbit toss himself to the fire in his friends' surprise. The old man was moved by the rabbit's sacrifice and his friends' despair for him, refusing to eat him that he reveal himself as Fukurokuju and restore the rabbit's body to his original form and buried him to take his new immortal body to the moon to live there.

The reason why he's a mochi maker is because of the shadow of the look like a rabbit making mochi for the people of Akatsuki (Nirikuō from of Japan), so they make a special mochi during New Years which is called Mochitsuki. Mochitsuki is made with same way that Yusa made it in ancient times which can be filled by azuki or other mochi fillings.
